Mission Planning Software Test Technician FL

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position for a Mission Planning Software Test Technician.  The job location is Shalimar, Florida in support of the Special Operations Mission Planning Environment (SOMPE). Interested applicants should apply by clicking the following link: Mission Planning Software Test Technician, completing the online application and uploading their resumes.

Scope:  The Developmental Test Technician (DTT) shall support SOMPE by testing new and modified mission planning software applications, including Aircraft / Weapon / Electronic (AWE) and Flight Performance Model (FPM) upgrades.  The DTT shall ensure hardware and software versions are compatible and develop Security Practices and Procedures (SPP) for Automated Information Systems (AIS) where required for classified mission planning purposes.  Additional SOMPE support includes implementing changes into Mission Planning (MP) applications as required for new systems or functionality introduced into MH‑47, MH-60, A/MH-6, AFSOC aircraft platforms and applications to support (Special Operations Forces) SOF Maritime and Ground Forces Mission Planning and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the SOMPE PM and in coordination with the SOMPE Test and Configuration Manager, the Contractor shall support, conduct and manage independent Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) for the Service-developed software suite that comprises SOMPE.
  • Independent DT&E shall include, but is not limited to, testing for technical compliance to defined requirements, functional capability, performance, usability, product install and uninstall procedures, integration within a specified software environment on fielded computer hardware platforms, and data loading/retrieval operations to specific platforms.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in military field of expertise is required; 5 years of which involved direct experience (supporting definition, development, qualification, and fielding of equipment) with highly complex mission planning system hardware and software.
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired
  • Requires at a minimum a Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

Mission Planning Program Integrator NC

Scope of Performance: Subject matter expertise is required for US Army Special Operations Command and US Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command mission planning and execution software being developed and fielded by the Product Manager (PM) SOMPE in support of Special Operations Forces (SOF). The SME shall support PM SOMPE by providing technical support for the development of new and the modification of existing mission planning and execution software applications, ensuring software and hardware versions are compatible and suitable to meet a SOF user requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, analytical, subject matter expertise and program management support for SOF mission planning and execution applications and systems.
  • Interpret and refine user requirements.
  • Conduct software production planning and execution.
  • Develop concise, accurate performance specifications and solicitation documents.
  • Evaluate schedule during the development process and monitor vendor compliance with stated requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the compliance of software products to performance specifications and requirements throughout the development process by conducting evaluations of pre-release engineering versions of software products.
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action should technical problems arise or user requirements change.
  • Provide reports, as required, to document results for tasks contained within this Performance Work Statement.
  • Provide support for software test planning and execution.
  • Provide logistics and resource management planning and support.
  • Travel within the continental U.S. (CONUS) is required. Overseas travel (OCONUS) may also be required on occasion.

Education and Experience-Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience working in a ground SOF military occupational specialty (i.e. CMF18 or 0372) is required; 5 years of which involved direct experience with mission planning and execution software and hardware (Windows and Android).
  • Requires a Top Secret security clearance.

Education and Experience-Desired:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a program management office, in a relevant commodity in a Combat Developments Division (CDD), or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.

Industrial Maintenance Technician - Carpenter

Scope of Performance: Qualified carpenter to support maintenance, repair, and installation of explosive and chemical processing equipment. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR.  Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tasks may include but are not limited to routine maintenance, repair, installation and modification to existing or new process equipment.  This work includes hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics, pipe fitting, and steam fitting.
  • Troubleshoot repairs, modifies, and conducts preventative maintenance on complex electrical, mechanical, and processing systems.
  • Electrical tasks range from bending conduit and pulling wire to wiring 3 phase pumps, motor starters motor control centers, and control wiring.
  • Technician may be required to execute written maintenance procedures and document work completed on record sheets to be archived in data base. 

Education and Experience – Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to gain/maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to pass Explosives Handler physical and Respirator Fit test 
  • Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
  • Sound technical skills
  • Carpentry experience strongly desiredo Must be able to use all basic hand tools (i.e. hammer, square, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.). 
    • Must be able to operation basic power/pneumatic tools (i.e. table saw, skill saw, Sawzall, jig saw, nail guns, etc.). 
    • Must be able to read a tape measure.

Analyst I

  • Technical support will involve initial production, review, updating and reconstruction of technical documents including, but not limited to; management plans and reports, ordnance systems publications, technical manuals, standard operating procedures, specifications, operational descriptions, and maintenance procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or five years of experience in the applicable technical area

Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammo)

Scope: Qualified Quality Assurance Specialist supports the work of other NSWC IHEODTD activities, vendors, participating industrial and government activities and the Naval Surface Warfare Center and Naval Air Systems Command.  Provides Command expertise in metals parts, measuring techniques, and quality as a part in the product assurance inspections process. Provides technical expertise and consultation, and is the central review point for discrepant quality evidence and contact point for coordination of quality verification efforts.  Specialist shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Interpret drawings and sketches; using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in evaluating parts and interpreting drawings.
  • Evaluate current inspection methods and procedures for accuracy, effectiveness, and productivity. Performs many of the difficult and complicated inspections on weapons, materials and test equipment procured, purchased, produced, modified, or repaired by the Command.
  • Perform technical evaluation to select up to date inspection equipment, techniques, and methods.
  • Coordinate testing of all first article samples. Works with other Divisions within the Department and with other departments. Completes reports and prepares a comprehensive report for the customer.
  • Set up and program various computer controlled equipment used in part measurement and physical evaluation of materials.
  • Monitor the performance of the inspection equipment and the data generated.
  • Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and assists floor leader in providing advice and assistance to the other inspectors in the Branch.
  • Develop inspection procedures and plans to use by contractor personnel problems.
  • Act as the Command representative to the outside sources involved whether it is another government facility or a private contractor by providing special field advice and assistance visits.
  • Provide technical assistance to Vendor Control and Supply by field advice and meetings with vendors and other government facilities and to evaluate the capability of the vendor to produce the material in question.
  • Participate in the Pre‐Award Surveys and Post‐Award Surveys to evaluate the capability of the Command’s vendors and when called upon by the Fleet Analysis Center.
  • Perform spot‐checks of SIPs, QATIPs, and other inspections of materials for adequacy and thoroughness. Recommends changes where conditions warrant changes and researches and drafts Standard Inspection Procedures used in the receipt inspection of hardware.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Technical expertise in the field of manufactured parts that enables the incumbent to provide advisory services to coworkers, customers, and vendors. Extensive knowledge of the design and materials being used in manufacturing a wide variety of ordnance items to develop and evaluate inspection procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Programming and the usage of computer controlled measuring equipment. Thorough knowledge of CMM including programming, operating, and interpreting data.
  • Working knowledge of qualifying vendors and Qualified Bidders List (QBL). Working knowledge of Aerospace parts.Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y 14.5) and the ability to apply it using up to date inspection techniques to perform inspections.
  • Working knowledge of various plating/protective finishing processes.
  • Understanding/knowledge of various heat treating and material hardening techniques and electro plating.
  • Broad knowledge of practices and procedures of other activities such as contracting, engineering, safety, and production to coordinate verification efforts.
  • Skill in applying a variety of methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and correcting quality problems.
  • Secret security clearance or Interim Secret required.
