Scope of Performance: We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to inspect and verify metal parts and components to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications. This role is critical in maintaining product quality, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Technician will work in all explosive and non explosive areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of metal parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Identify nonconforming materials and initiate corrective actions
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to accurately interpret and verify part specifications
- Operate and/or program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment to perform precise dimensional inspections
- Inspect metal parts produced in CNC machining or fabrication environments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and quality standards
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
- Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with standards
- Assist with audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality procedures
Education and Experience – Required:
- 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in metal manufacturing and machining
- High School Diploma or equivalent (associates degree or technical certification preferred)
- Proficiency with measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Ability to gain/maintain Secret Clearance
- Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 75lbs)
