Scope:  Provide electrical engineering analysis and support services for multiple Army and Special Operations aircraft and their associated mission equipment.  Successful performance requires knowledge of aircraft and component level design, qualification and testing specifications and methods and airworthiness requirements.  Areas of focus include system electrical design support; instrumentation electrical design; electrical loads analysis (ELA) of new systems, instrumentation, electrical testing (EMC/EMI) support; laboratory/bench test development and testing; producing ELA reports suitable for airworthiness approval; and supporting flight testing by developing instrumentation plans and interpreting flight test data.

 

Responsibilities:

Scope:  Provide subject matter support services for highly complex SOA peculiar mission equipment and US Army common mission equipment.   Successful performance requires extensive knowledge of the component and aircraft level qualification requirements and ability of interfacing effectively with aircraft systems integrators and systems engineers.   • Independently estimates and evaluates cost and schedule and monitors vendor compliance with stated requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience working with military aviation is required.

Scope:  The Flight Test Engineer (FTE) support shall be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of developmental flight test that supports research and advanced concept programs that support aviation initiatives for ADD, the Army, Government agencies, and the defense industry. The FTE shall coordinate and execute ground and flight test or test related activities for the various research and development activities. The FTE will coordinate test efforts with acquisition agencies including Program Management offices, TRADOC System Managers, contractors, and the user community.   Additionally, FTEs may act as Test Directors and supervise flight test programs and all test flight activities on assigned projects and programs. FTEs shall collect, reduce, and analyze data from ground and flight tests, and report on testing activities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform flight engineer test duties both from ground test control locations as well as collection of data in flight in multiple aircraft types.
  • Coordinate and execute ground and flight testing or test-related activities for various research and development activities to include: airfield or off-site testing activities, test program management, project test support, and program management for test activities.
  • Act as Test Directors and supervise flight test programs and all test flight activities on assigned projects and programs.
  • Collect, reduce, and analyze data from ground and flight tests, and report on testing activities.
  • Author test plans and formal test reports, rendering judgments regarding the relative merits of the tested aircraft or system and making recommendations relative to the intended military mission.

 

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in  Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in planning and conducting flight and/or ground tests including experience as a Test Director supervising flight test programs and test flight activities.
  • Must be capable of participating in aerial flight in a Flight Test Engineering capacity
  • Secret or Interim Secret security clearance is required
  • Desired: Graduate of a Nationally recognized test pilot school

Scope:  The Programmer/Analyst analyses functional applications and design specifications and translates detailed designs into computer software. The Programmer/Analyst shall analyze derived mission planning system/software requirements and make implementation recommendation to include architectural approaches for satisfying user requirements/ mission planning needs and recommend design and architecture enhancements. The Programmer/Analyst shall also analyze existing software applications for usage suitability or migration to future systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software programs for both Windows and Android mobile environments from Warfighter requirements to enhance situational awareness, mission planning and execution. Coding languages utilized to build software: C#, .NET, VB, VBA, WPF, Java and Xamarin.
  • Provide technical assistance to the end user and MPSE’s by troubleshooting and applying corrective action to issues associated with unclassified/classified networks, Windows/Android operating systems and mission planning software.
  • Routinely test the Aircraft/Weapons/Electronics (AWE) program operating the Aircraft Software Integration Lab. Specifically load and verify data accuracy for flight plans, communications, and ASE for the MH6M, MH47G and MH60M aircraft.
  • Converse with SOMPE Engineers and Mission Planning 3rd Party developers by providing guidance and technical expertise in the early stages of software development to ensure the warfighter gets a usable product out of the box.
  • Consistently engage with Regimental Standards and SIMO Aircraft cells to ensure mission planning software and weight & balance applications are current with latest aircraft modifications.
  • Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation and enhances software to reduce operating time or efficiency.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possess a SECRET security clearance.
  • Three (3) years experience using Windows-based operating systems.
  • Three (3) years experience in SOF mission planning.
  • Desired: Bachelor’s degree in software engineering.
